In New Delhi, India hosted the eighth round of consultations with the chiefs of the border services of the competent authorities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO) member nations.
Outcome of Meet
- The meeting focused on security challenges, including threats of terrorism, and regional security scenarios, including the situation in Afghanistan
- The participants in the SCO meeting exchanged information on assessments of the situation on the state borders of SCO member states, trends, and future projections.
- The outcomes of the Joint Border Operation “Solidarity-2019-2021,” which was carried out in 2021 by the border services of the SCO member states’ competent authorities, were examined and reviewed.
- This year’s Joint Border Operation “Friendship Border – 2022” was examined and authorised, as was the strategy for preparation and organisation.
- India supported China’s move to conduct the Solidarity – 2023” next year.
