    1. Patients: 
      • ABDM is expected to significantly improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency of health service delivery overall. 
      • patients will be able to securely store and access their medical records (such as prescriptions, diagnostic reports and discharge summaries), and share them with health care providers to ensure appropriate treatment and follow-up.

      • Ensure transparency in pricing of services and accountability for the health services being rendered.

      • health care professionals across disciplines will have better access to patient’s medical history (with the necessary informed consent) for prescribing more appropriate and effective health interventions.

      • policy makers and programme managers will have better access to data, enabling more informed decision making by the Government.

National Health Authority (NHA)

National Health Authority (NHA) is the apex body responsible for implementing India’s flagship public health insurance/assurance scheme called “Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana”

National Health Authority is the successor of the National Health Agency, which has been functioning as a registered society since 23rd May, 2018.

NHA is governed by a Governing Board chaired by the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare

To implement the scheme at the State level, State Health Agencies (SHAs) in the form of a society/trust have been set up by respective States.
