First Har Ghar Dastak campaign
In November 2021, the first Har Ghar Dastak campaign was conducted. So far, across the nation, 193.6 crore doses of vaccines have been administered.
- Why was the Har Ghar Dastak campaign 2.0 launched?
- Concerns have been raised by the Union Health Ministry about the slow pace of Covid vaccination.
- As a result, on May 20th, the ministry advised all Union Territories and States to launch a two-month 2.0 campaign with detailed plans for all blocks, districts, and villages.
- The goal of this campaign is to vaccinate all eligible population groups across the country via door-to-door campaigns for the first, second, and precaution doses. This campaign will concentrate on:
- Old age homes
- Colleges
- Schools
- Out-of-school children
- Brick kilns
- Prison etc
- How does the government implement the Scheme?
- States and Union Territories have been urged to undertake effective monitoring with respective micro-plans based on due lists of all eligible beneficiaries.
- States and UTs have also been urged to review administration of precaution dose with the private hospitals on a regular basis for the age group of 18-59.
- The initiative contributed immensely towards the success of the programme by reaching out to the last mile beneficiaries including the old-aged, differently-abled and even the vaccine hesitant populations.
