About Advanced Knowledge and Rural Technology Implementation (AKRUTI) Programme
- Implementation – Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE)
- It is an initiative for using Non-Power Applications (NPAs) and Spinoff technologies in water, agriculture, food processing and waste management under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
- The use of technology in both rural and urban regions is encouraged under this programme. Under the programme, entrepreneurship is also promoted.
- Aim – The project primarily aims to develop rural areas by disseminating knowledge, information, and BARC technology deployment in rural areas.

- The scheme’s principal goal is to promote rural development across the country.
- The AKRUTI initiative covers water, food processing, agriculture, and waste management in rural areas.

- Its goal is to promote entrepreneurship in the rural sector.
- The application process is relatively straightforward; there are two separate forms for people, women entrepreneurs, MSMEs, and businesses, for example.

- NGOs that are technically sound and operate in rural regions to carry out science and technology-related tasks
- Financial institutions, banks, and social organisations that provide funding to non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
- Rural development projects are managed by state and federal government departments
