  • Energy and Climate Change: 
    • The two partners decided to work together to solve global challenges and solutions related to the transition to green energy and climate change.
    • Some of the commitments to address the common global challenges on the path to global energy transition, green growth, and sustainable development include the Strategic Sector Cooperation on offshore wind and renewable energy, the India-Denmark Energy Partnership (INDEP) on capacity building, knowledge-sharing, and technology transfer on wind energy, and energy modelling and integration of renewable energy.
    • India and Denmark have agreed to lead the battle against climate change on a global scale.
  • Environment and Circular Economy
    • Both countries committed to work together to develop and deepen existing government-to-government cooperation in the areas of environment, water, and circular economy.
    • Countries also committed to work together on water efficiency and non-revenue water (water loss), and the Indian Ministry of Jal Shakti, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, and the Danish Ministry of Environment and Food were entrusted with developing a three-year Work Plan (2021-23).
    • Smart Cities and Sustainable Urban Development:
    • Both parties committed to expand bilateral cooperation in sustainable urban development, including smart cities, through the Goa-based Urban Living Lab.
    • Both parties also agreed to expand existing city-to-city collaboration between Udaipur and Aarhus, as well as Tumkur and Aalborg.
  • Business, Trade and Shipping:
    • Both sides praised the notion of forming relationships between the two countries’ governments, institutions, and industries, with a particular focus on green and climate-friendly technologies.
    • They understood the significance of regulatory framework conditions in supporting public and private green energy initiatives.
    • Both presidents praised their close cooperation on maritime issues and saw opportunities to expand it in shipbuilding and design, maritime services and green shipping, as well as port development.
  • Science, Technology, Innovation and Digitization:
    • India and Denmark understand the need of supporting and facilitating investments in science, technology, and innovation (STI) through strong public-private partnerships as a means of speeding up technology development and deployment.
    • The two executives realised they had an interest in digitization, digital solutions, and business models in the green transition and decided to work together to improve development, innovation, and demonstration in the field of digital technologies to support green, long-term growth.
  • Food and Agriculture:
    • The two Prime Ministers urged authorities, businesses, and research institutes to work together more closely in the areas of food processing and food safety, as well as animal husbandry and dairying.
  • Health and Life Science:
    • Both sides stressed the possibility for increased engagement and cooperation in the health sector, as well as their shared willingness to do so.
    • They expressed a desire to deepen conversation and share best practices on health policy concerns, such as epidemics and vaccinations, particularly in the fight against Covid-19 and future pandemics.
    • They committed to work together to increase commercial prospects for firms by improving the environment for the life sciences sector, including research collaborations.
  • People-to-People Contacts, Cultural Cooperation, and Labour Mobility:
    • The two Prime Ministers agreed that the depth of India and Denmark’s relationship stems from long-standing people-to-people ties.
  • Multilateral Cooperation:
    • The two Prime Ministers have agreed to collaborate on efforts and initiatives to support and develop a multilateral system based on rules. This includes strong multilateral cooperation to address the urgent need to ramp up global efforts to address global energy and climate change concerns, as well as a shared commitment to the International Energy Agency, International Renewable Energy Agency, and International Solar Alliance.
